Tools needed for high flow cats install
Can someone help me out with a tool list for installing my high flow cats? I want to make sure I have everything I need before I start.
Socket and wrench sizes? how long of an extension to reach the manifold flange bolts Do I need a swivel? I'm going to borrow an o2 socket from the parts store, so that shouldn't be an issue. I hate making trips to the store for that one wrench I don't have while in the middle of a job. Any help, tips, and cautions will be greatly appreciated.

People have a hard time removing one of the O2 sensors. Just FYI. Not sure on sizes... My guess is 15mm. I forget and my car is too low to go check.
I'd have a 6" and 12" extension. Good tools to have. I never mind buying tools. |

Thanks, I'll buy both extensions, I'm guessing as long as I have a range of 14 to 18 mm shallow sockets, the extensions, the o2 socket, that should be it?

I believe the bolts on the back end of the cats are 13mm.

Probably a good idea to soak all the bolts and O2's with penetrating oil for a while before you get started.

I bought an O2 sensor socket from my Snap-On guy,Its 22mm.
Also, make sure the exhaust is hot,I know it would be easier if it was cool, thats what me and my buddy thought, but it will make taking the O2 sensors out a lot easier and will help prevent stripping the threads like I did on one of mine when we removed it :(

Thanks guys, looks like I need a couple of extensions and a 15 and 16 deep socket. Do I need a swivel to get the back manifold nut? Do I need someone under the car or can I do this myself?

No,no swivel was needed for mine.
It would help to have someone under the car, thats how we did mine,we actually removed the manifolds and cats together, but I was installing my LT headers,hi-flow cats, and CORSA all at the same time. Are you just doing cats? or do you have headers too?

OK,are you planning on removing your exhaust manifolds,or are you just trying to remove the cats only?
