Challenger SRT8 6.1L vs my L99 2SS
Local goober bought himself an 2008-2010 Challenger SRT since it has the 6.1L which was used in 2008-2010.
Claims to be able to smoke me.

Idk if he'll smoke you. Do you know if it is auto or manual? I'd say it'll probably be a drivers race. With the edge going to you if he's stock.

My friend has a stock auto 6.1. I am bolt ons, tuned, and geared and it was child's play.

Those old 6.1's make about 425 with their 5 speed auto I believe.
With your auto to match his auto, plus your bolt-ons and reduced weight, I don't see how he'll beat you. Maybe if he hooks better? I doubt he will. |

stock for stock...driver's race. The wife's '09 SRT8 300 against my '10 L99 is almost even, with an edge to the L99 if it hooks.

One of the very first cars I ran against was a 6.1 Challenger. Granted I had a cold air, headers and a tune but, I also got those mods within the first 1500 miles of owning it.
Simply put, it wasn't close. Hitting it at the same time from 30-120, I drug his ass, couldn't give you a car range. Even giving him the hit, from a 40-120 roll, I had a solid 4-5 cars. This is coming from someone who is capable in drag racing but has no love for it...

The 6.1 isn't the best n/a motor...great as a stroker or boosted.
You should do fine

i have done this exact run with my car when all i had was a intake. i took the 6.1 3 times all from a dig. Make sure you have done the fuse pull and use traction off with stabilitrak (press the traction button twice) throw it in sport driving and feather it out the hole and floor it. you got this guy

Good friend of mine has an 08 SRT auto. I raced him stock vs stock in my l99 and pulled him by nearly a full length. He got a diablo tuner and uploaded a canned tune and pulled me by about a length. Now that I'm tuned up he says he's not sure if he wants to race me again.

Make sure you record it for us......I ran a challenger a couple of weeks ago but failed to record it. Its nice to look back on your races.

I did the same race with my buddies challenger the day I got my car , both all stock wasn't much of a race , that car is pretty heavy
