Not your typical car wash story
I drove the Camaro to work today. Left early about 6 AM. I had the top down for an invigorating 35 mile ride. About 20 miles into trip I got a few light rain drops on the winshield. The early morning sky didnt look that threatening so I continued on. The next ten miles were on and off again light showers, but since I wasn't getting wet I continued on. I had the wipers on intermittent and I seemed to slice right thru the water. I can't imagine what the other drivers were thinking. I did get a high beam flash from a guy in a Charger. When I got to the edge of town, the showers had quit, but the sky ahead looked pretty dark. I found a place to pull over and raised the top just as the bottom fell out. Happy ending, I stayed dry and my interior only got a few drops....Happy Cruising...

That cool weather just before rain sounds like the best cruising weather!

I had been on a driving tour and started with top down last week. When it got to 93 degrees, I put the top up with a/c on. About 1/2 hour later, there was a torrential downpour with hail. It stopped but kept raining on and off all day.
On the way home, it looked pretty clear, but I still kept the top up just in case. On the expressway, I saw a 3rd gen Camaro convert with top down. He smiled and waved at me. First time another Camaro owner ever did this to me so I smiled and gave him a thumbs up as he passed by. About 1 minute later, another torrential downpour started, worst than the first. Don't know what happened to him, but I imagine he was not smiling and waving anymore. |

Lol...sounds like me when I used to own a 4th gen Z28 with t-tops. Sometimes I'd hedge if a light drizzle started, but it usually ended up in me pulling over to pull the t-tops out of the hatch. Convertible FTW! Push a button and the top goes up!

I have driven lots of verts, if you stay above 55 mph, top down, rain, you and your passengers will not get wet!
