Just Moved to the Midland/Odessa Area

Any active members living here?

i just moved from Tulsa, lived there a year right after college, originally from Houston.

We moved into the Mission Dorado area just west of the airport.

It would be nice to have some meet & greets with other West Texas members if there isn't one already!

I do not live out there, but try to make at least 1 trip a year to Lake Coleman area.

Haven't seen any Camaro's out there as of 2 months ago and normally am in town for 2 weeks... Maybe could swing by for a meet and greet next time I am up there!

PM Me if You have any questions. I know it is a long drive, but We are still triing to get our Camaro5 Chapter up and running with a strong following. Right now We have about 8 Active Members that do most of our Meet and Greets.

The Upcoming Gila National Forest Cruise will last about 5-6 hours, as We will depart El Paso, drive to Las Cruces to get the rest of our group. See the top thread for a map of our proposed route.

No offense, but have you seen a map of Texas? El Paso ain't close! LOL

To the OP....I lived in Midland for 16 years. All I can say is, I'm very sorry, and I got the hell outta Dodge as fast as I could! However, there USED to be a good car scene, check out RowdyRides.com, it's the local car site IIRC.

However, Rosa's Cafe is some mighty fine eats. I do miss that place.

Im in England right now and im missing my car than i am my family.. i hope they dont read this.

Rosa's is good stuff. I love Taco Villa too. I grew up there and still have family out there. Heading that direction this weekend to visit.

Regarding stuff to do, I rode ATV's at Kermit most of the time and raced motocross at Waterwonder Land and the MX track by Midland.

They recently shut down the 1/4 mile track at Penwell just after renovating it but there is an 1/8 mile track by the airport.

Outside of that not much. Your typical small town area.

I grew up in Odessa and go back every 6-8 weeks to see family. Coop 2010 and I will be heading that direction September 17th for the car show at the Petroleum Museum. My dad is part of a club out there. http://www.westtexascruisers.com/ I know he knows several Vette owners and at least one super charged 2010 Camaro owner. They are meeting at Texas burger in Midland on Wadley and Big Spring on August 14th at 7. His name is Bo and he will probably be there in his '54 Chevy truck if you decide to go.

There is a show and cruise in Big Spring Sept. 4 - Labor Day weekend - if you guys don't have anything better to do. I'll be driving up from Houston to see family and attend.

RedJewel: your not alone man. There is a growing community of camaro guys in Midland. It would rock to have a meet and greet with some of the other drivers. Welcome back to Midland....its not as bad as most make it out to be.
