Warranty...better read the exclusions

Received my Camaro the 9th. Many surprises. It cost me $2495 to extend the warranty to reverse the following paragraph:

2010 Chevrolet Limited Warranty And Owner Assistance Information

Page 5.

Exclusions: Excluded from the powertrain coverage are sensors, wiring, connectors, engine radiator, cooling hoses, cooling and heater core. Coverage on the engine cooling system begins in the inlet of the water pump and ends with the thermostat housing and/or outlet that attaches to the return hose. Also excluded is the entire pressurized fuel system (in-tank fuel pump, pressure lines, fuel rail(s), regulator, injectors and return line) as well as the Engine/Powertrain Control Module and/or module programming.

it does NOT surprise me that any of that is excluded from the POWERTRAIN warranty. The powertrain is engine/trans/rear. That stuff is included in the full 3/36 warranty. $2495 sounds a bit steep to me for an extended warranty, but if peace of mind is worth it for you, fine. IMO, The only things on that list that would be an expensive repair would be the heater core and in-tank fuel pump...and maybe the radiator depending on the cost of the part.

Stripes

>2SS/RS/M6 - IBM w/ silver rally stripes

Could you describe how the stripes were installed? I thought they were painted on.

All of the stripes from GM are vinyl...none are painted unless done after the fact. Mine were dealer installed...wish I got them painted.

I telephoned GM earlier, was advised they are painted on in the factory.

you got wrong info...TRUST ME...they are vinyl "stickers". They are now all factory installed, but on earlier cars some were dealer installed. Do a search here, there's tons of threads about them.

They indeed are NOT painted from the factory. I hate seeing that kind of misinformation.

extended warranties are for suckers.... Sorry.. I can replace a lot of stuff for 2500 bucks. 99% of people never get there moneys worth out of these. After all it is pre-paying someone to fix something that hasn't broke yet.

Actually its insurance for people who experience breakage and can't fix their own sh!t. Thats right...in the fine print it says...Yah you...the guy in the mirror.
