Anyone have a lenient dealership?

So from what I have gotten, the decision on wether or not your warranty gets voided is pretty much up to the dealership... So the question is... Anyone know any " lenient " service manager or dealership for when something might come up? I live in WV. 10 min from MD, 20 from PA and 20 from VA. So anything around these areas would be awesome. PM me if needed. Thanks in advance

what you need to do is try find with one of the dealership mechanics who also a "motor-head"...they know (hopefully) all the inside crap that goes on and can guide you...you close to Mason-Dixon? If so try to come up today(T&T-labor day weekend classic races)...I can introduce you to a guy.....

It's not really up to the dealership. It is true that some dealerships may be more "mod friendly" than others. This really comes down to those dealerships that embrace the enthusiast culture. Look for a dealership that either sponsors a Corvette or Camaro club, at least one that sells a lot of these cars. These dealerships will know what the mods are, what they do, what they effect, and most importantly what GM will and will not ask questions about.

However, at certain threshold of cost or damage, GM will require a readout of the ECM and/or a visual inspection from a warranty rep. For example, if you put on headers and have tune done for the MIL, then your transmission craps out, or anything that would require replacement/rebuild of a major part/system, GM will deny the repair and flag the powertrain warranty.

Also keep in mind that your 'roadside' requires the car to be towed to the nearest Chevrolet/GM dealer within 25 miles. So, if you're on the road, away from home, or your 'mod friendly' dealer is out of range, you may run into issues there, like the infamous catch-can warranty void.
