They earned it. If they play like that against Florida, they might get the chance to lose to Kansas.

You know Florida is watching a lot of film form FGCU games the last few days. They won't be able to "surprise" anyone else in the tourny - but they are playing well so there's always a chance of anitehr upset.

I'm not so sure how strong Kansas really is. Yes they beat UNC by 12 but UNC had an 11 pt lead going into the half. UNC fell apart from there on giving Kansas the win. Kansas might not even advance to the 8 I think as Michigan is strong! If they do though it won't matter, no way they'll win the whole thing...

It was only 9 at the half, but I see your point. I have a lot of respect for Michigan, but take a look at the Kansas team. You can shut down McLemore, our offensive powerhouse, but someone else always takes the torch. If you can't stop McLemore, we get a crazy lead on you. If you do stop him, Releford will start scoring. Also, keep an eye on Withey. He's the number 2 shot-blocker in the country, and his 7'0" height advantage really shuts down anyone in the paint, which will cause a lot of problems. Kiss your layups goodbye.

Kansas is not a high-scoring team this year, but the top defense in the country will hurt anyone, and we can play at least 7 players as if they were all starters if someone isn't producing the results we want, as witnessed by the 12 points second-stringer Tharpe put up against UNC. In fact, he played more time than McLemore.

You do realize you are talking about UNC? One of the worse defenses in college basketball? lol

Like I said, Kansas is not a high-scoring team this year. We won on defense by having a superior ability to block shots and killed their shooting percentage from the first half. Even with a poor defense, Kansas didn't put up the best offense, and we all know there were some issues there. Hopefully, the last few days have given the Jayhawks a good chance to refresh themselves and focus on kicking tail.

high scoring team or not, UNC allowed an averaged of almost 70 pts a game on defense the whole year. don't get me wrong, i wanted kansas to win, but it wasn't looking too good for them. was much closer than it should have been, early on. I hope they can pull out another win, but my hopes are pretty low.

We REALLY wanted to be in Indy. When we lived in Louisville we had season tickets for 17 years and tried to make a few road games within driving distance each year. Now living in South Texas Indy would have been a 18-19 hour drive so we just watched from home. I have to believe Pitino will find a Witchita State flaw that the Cards can exploit in Atlanta -but I know the game is won on the floor so I won't just take it for granted they will win.
