what do u think about this car?
so someone's is selling this car for $2.5k, im kinda interested with it, but let see if dadd say yes to this as my DD. what do u say about this car? i ask him to email me the details of car and this what he said. what do u think of this car?

This is a second gen - not so fond of the color and stripes and appears to have been used hard over the years but the body looks solid.
Have a mechanic take a look at it for you especially if it is going to be your DD. |

Doesn't look too bad. Stripe is a bit odd, and I'm sure those taillights are illegal painted that dark...But it looks to be a stick? That's a plus! Make sure the body isn't full of bondo, check the frame rails to make sure they aren't rusted out, give it a test drive, and if you like it go ahead and make an offer. Price doesn't seem ridiculous but the car does need some work.
And the car is a 78-81 model, 2nd gen. Can't tell for sure but I would think the owner would know??

It's got a 79 - 81 dash in it.
Check the vin# (look thru the lower drivers side windshield on the dash) It will tell you the model and model year of the car. Also the date (Month and year) of MFG is problably on the drivers door. 1979 -- Vehicle Identification Example: 1Q87G9N500001 First digit is GM Division: 1 = Chevrolet Second digit is model: Q = Sport Coupe, Rally Sport and Z28, S = Berlinetta Digits 3 & 4 are body type: 87 = 2dr. coupe Fifth digit is engine code: D = 250ci, G = 305ci, L = 350ci Sixth digit is model year: 9 = 1979 Seventh digit is N for Norwood assembly, L for Van Nuys. Last six digits increased one with each car built at each plant. 1980 -- Vehicle Identification Example: 1P87LAN547484 First digit is GM Division: 1 = Chevrolet Second digit is model: P = Sport, Rally Sport, Z28, S = Berlinetta Digits 3 & 4 are body type: 87 = 2dr. coupe Fifth digit is engine code: A = 231ci V6, H = 305ci V8, J = 267ci V8, K = 229ci V6, L = 350ci V8.
