Burnouts are just a waste of money and unnecessary abuse on the car IMO

Any v-8 car with a manual transmission and 200+hp can burn the shit out of the tires. Hell most v-8 autos can do it with a good brake torque.

They are kind of fun sometimes....I have yet to do it in my car for the above reasons.

5. When you're finished, let off the brakes and ride it out, or push in the clutch and let off the gas and roll to a halt a few feet forward.

That was the 30 second lesson I received before the burnout in my promo video. Car had 800 miles on it.

Nice vid Mindz!

Let's analyze this: on one side you've got two cons (waste of money/abuse), and on the other you've one pro (kinda fun). Let's imagine, for a moment, that we all don't actually NEED the Camaro. As far as necessity is concerned, it's a waste of money to buy a 40k dollar car when they sell cars at much lower prices. Let's also consider that, technically, each trip in your Camaro will contain some sort of abuse, even if it's the normal wear and tear. Why, then, do we do it?? --> because it's fun. Now for some ppl the fun is just not enough to buy a Camaro. This is similiar to how you feel about burnouts. To everyone who thinks burnouts are fun enough to do: (me included)

exactly.

I all ready said they were fun. But this is not my first sports car. Burn outs get old really quick and you soon realize just a waste of money.

The only reason left is to show off like you stated.

No not even by accident. Just not my style, maybe if I was 16 again I would.

"to show off" sounds like your getting a bit snarky. It falls under fun, which you stated, in your original post.

To say "the only reason to do a burnout is to show off', sounds a bit condescending IMO....Thas all..

I hate it when people who ride their brakes during a burnout. Its stupid. And causes even more unnecessary strain on the drivetrain. But thats just me...

Either get linelocks or do a burnout properly imho. Drop clutch from 2.5, let it spin up and SHIFT! (Get room because you will be going real fast by the time the wheels start to grab) =p
