Arrival Houston

Hi,

just a quick note to say hi to all, just arrived in Houston a couple of weeks ago, Landed on Thursday bought a 2011 Camaro on Friday. Really enjoying the car and looking forward to tuning / driving it over the next couple of years.

Just thought I would say hi to the Texas chapter,

I'm actually in Wylie, east of Plano.

The thing about the G8, after 44K miles it's finally starting to loosen up. The auto trans responds to throttle input sooner now, which is fun, but the truth is I'm just not inspired like I was with my Formulas. I'm a V8 Junkie and although I'm still pissed off at GM for killing the Chief, Camaros are way more suited to my style. And really, there's no G8 "community" like there is with camaros. I'm looking forward to getting back into car shows, racing and socializing with fellow hot-rodders.

BTW, good looking list of mods thirdleft152. CAI and exhaust are #2 & #3 on my ToDo list. #1... make it shine!

Right on. Wylie isn't too far. Well i really like the way the G8's look. Sucks its taken that long to get it loosened up.

I love the mods so far, really wakes up the car and makes it sound mean. I'm about to start with the cosmetic mods to make it look as good as it sounds!

Mean is good.

There's a white SS that drives by my house; it's loud, blacked out tail light panel and black rims. There's also a Camaro that I see with pink rims. I haven't seen who was driving it, but if it's a hottie, I'll throw myself in front of her ride so's I can get a better look.

I noticed a lot of beautiful machines with front license plates. Did you know there is a house bill to eliminate that front plate in Texas?
Texas owners:

Single License Plate Bill Introduced in Texas Legislature

Legislation (H.B. 557) to require the issuance of a single motor vehicle license plate for attachment at the rear of the vehicle was introduced in the Texas House Of Representatives. The bill, favored by state hobbyists, would apply to passenger cars and light trucks.

We Urge You to Contact Members of the House Transportation Committee (Contact Info Below) Immediately to Request Support for H.B. 557
H.B. 557 would apply to all passenger cars used to accommodate 10 or fewer passengers and light trucks, including pickup trucks, panel delivery trucks, or carryall trucks that have a manufacturer's rated carrying capacity of 2,000 pounds or less.

H.B. 557 would protect the aesthetic contours of collector cars and relieve vehicle owners of the burden of having to create mounting holes on fabricated bumpers, etc.

H.B. 557 would save money, conserve resources and bring Texas in line with other states that have moved to a single plate requirement.
DON’T DELAY! Please contact members of the Texas House Transportation Committee immediately by phone or e-mail to request their support for H.B. 557.

Please e-mail a copy of your letter to Steve McDonald at stevem@sema.org. Also, please forward this Alert to your fellow car enthusiasts. Urge them to join the SAN and help defend the hobby! Thank you for your assistance.

Just in time maybe. I will have to rivet the front plate bracket into my ZL-1 in 90 days if the law remains the same.
