Can someone with factory bluetooth check something for us?
No tearing stuff apart, if someone could simply let us know if when you synced your phone with your car for both hands free and playing music via Bluetooth (A2DP), was it a single profile your phone had to sync to, or did you have 2?
In other words, when pairing your phone with your car, did you only have to do it once and everything worked? Or did your phone find 2 different profiles (one hands free, one music) you had to pair up to? I'm guessing just one (as most other vehicles I've done it with) but wanted to be sure since it was in question. Thank you! |

I have a Black Berry Storm. When paired up with the blue tooth it will not play music via blue tooth from the phone. . . This option is just not available on any phone that I know of.

You have to sync your phone part and music part separately, So when you have your bluetooth music playing it will not allow your phone to work

pair it twice. However, when using the GMusic I am no longer able to receive/make calls. In addition, I have to turn off GMusic on the phone and reconnect "General Motors" on the phone as well. It does not do this automatically. Verizon network, LG phone.

If you go into Config and then Phone, you should be able to select pair. Don't select the GPS option because that's not gonna work. Once you select pair, a voice should come on with instructions on going into your phone and searching for General Motors. A 4-digit PIN will be read aloud to you and will be displayed on the screen. You'll have to enter that into your phone. Once you do that, it will ask you for a nametag. Give it something that will let you know what your phone is. You could call it Blackberry, or whatever you like. Once you have that done, to get to the voice recognition on your phone, follow these steps: 1. Press voice rec button on steering wheel. System responds with 'Ready' 2. Say Bluetooth. System responds with 'Bluetooth Ready' 3. Say Voice. System responds with 'OK. Accessing [speaks nametag you recorded during pairing] Then your phone will start listening and you can speak your commands like you would normally when using your Blackberry's voice recognition. If you'd like a bit of a shortcut, you can store nametags for common people you call in the vehicle, so you just have to say Call, and then say the nametag that you recorded. There was a post on how to set this up, as well as the steps that I just posted above. Check it out here.

Great! Can you help with this? Why does my radio display "Unknown" next to the phone number of an incoming call that's stored on both my phone and the vehicle? I've gone through and stored my friends and family using the handsfree system in the car (and have them stored on my phone as well). Why doesn't the car caller ID? Have I missed a step during setup? Is it possible to access the phonebook via the radio? Just curious, this worked on an STS I had a while back. THANKS!!!

People are correct with being two bluetooth units. One in the PDIM and the other in the VCIM (onstar). There are some people on the gm truck forums that purchased the VCIM with the bluetooth and the antenna and were able to add factory bluetooth to the truck. I dont know if this would work on the camaro or not, but i think just the VCIM out of the 2SS would work.
