Front licence plate

My state requires a front plate, but I do not want to use the factory plate frame that they mount onto the front bumper and put holes in it. Does anyone make a plate frame that mounts lower and not have to put holes in your bumper.

Do a search for Jac Fab front plate holder. You'll come up with this and several other threads. Jac Fab seems to be the most popular.

Yes I did look at their site before my post. But I was not that thrilled with it. I was hoping there was something better someone discovered.

For the straight one or the bent one. Your not going to find a better one any where. High quality billet powder coated direct bolt on underneath. Or go for a hide away under the splitter. You can get either the tuck under by hand or get the electric one that tucks under by hand held control.

Good luck. I searched everywhere, and the JacFab is what I got. It's a fantastic piece. Bolt on, no drilling, looks good. A lot better than the stock bracket.

I recently met another Canadian Camaro owner at BBOMG who told me what most are saying here - the Jac Fab is a great product, and does just what we want - takes away the need to drill the front bumper and still remain legal. I liked it a lot on his car.

For a different twist, the law in Ontario is clear. It states that we must have a "front plate affixed to the foremost part of the car". Close to the exact wording...
To the letter of the law, that would place it directly in the centre of the front bumber, which the Jac Fab does.
But...I talked with a friendly local police officer who told me that front plate violations aren't on the top of their priority list, although catching an officer when he or she is having a difficult day could still result in you being ticketed.

This is what I have thought of doing but haven't yet acted upon, so I asked him:
If I took my front plate to a printing company (Kinko's, or the like), and had them copy it onto a heavy paper or maybe a light plastic stock (if they have plastic stock) with an adhesive backing that would allow the "plate" to be stuck onto the front bumber, centered, would that work?
He said that since the law says "plate", not a facsimile of the plate, likely not if pushed hard.
But, he also said, even if the police were looking, if they saw what appeared to be a true front plate, there is little-to-no chance that they'd do a double-take to try to verify it as a true metal plate.

It would be very important to find an adhesive backing that would not hurt the paint fininsh on the bumber, and for those who drive their cars in rain or winter, be strong enough to hold it in place.
That said, for what little I hope that this idea would cost, we could have several printed at the same time.

Just a thought.

For you guys thinking it's a good idea to stick the plate on you dash, and as a former member of a design and applications team in Passenger Safety for a tier 1 supplier, the windshield is an integral part of the passenger airbag system. Of course, it might not matter if the flying plate has already severed off the top of your passenger's head.
Just saying
