So here is the real question concerning US Top Gear.
Who is the Stig?
His driving style is similar to Tanner's but he appears to be built a little thicker. |

IDK probably an ex F1 or indy driver but their track sucks, do you see all the dirt and dust kicked up, and pavement changes. Not as good as UK version's track. They would be better off at Willow Springs.
The main reason why US top gear missed the mark is they didn't hire automotive journalists and writers as hosts like the UK version, instead they picked stale actors who can't articulate anything or put emotions into words without sounding totally scripted. Here's a good FLD episode on automotive journalism with a little back story about the top gear hosts. |

I'd put money on it being tanner. he's already involved in the show, they don't exactly have to pay him anything extra to do it. ken block? as much as he loves driving I doubt he would come cheaply.

It cant be Tanner because most of the time the UK version had all 3 guys + the the stig together at once and head to head racing most of the time. Its just a matter of time before we see Tanner vs the Stig on an episode. Maybe Paul Tracy?

If it's tracy, they should switch him out with tanner, imo he would be better than tanner as a host.

The Show has great potential. The UK version is great just tired of the U.S. auto bashing all the time. I just think they shot themselves in the foot with all the hiring of Hosts except for Tanner. He is the only expert that conveys knowledge of the industry and has an interesting personality. The other two are not even remotely entertaining. Please fix this before the show is cancelled.

I'm with lava, the US version has serious longevity problems. Update and improve the boring hosts and guests before it is canceled. Stig is probably a driver no one has ever heard about.
