The 2010 Camaro has been declared the most searched car on Yahoo for all of 2009!

When it came to ranking the most searched for individual models, it turns out that the enduring popularity of the iconic American muscle car, such as the Chevy Camaro and Ford Mustang, is still tough to beat. In fact, five of the top 10 most searched cars are American made. However, smaller, fuel-efficient models are still top of mind with consumers as evidenced by the continued popularity of the Honda Civic, Mini Cooper and Smart ForTwo.

I think it's funny the honda civic beat the mustang for popularity, I would have thought it would be the other way around.

Yeah I couldn't help but laugh at that one. Who the hell in their right mind would take a Civic over a Mustang? Whoever rated the popularity obviously needs

The "popularity" of cars on this list are based on the # of searches performed on Yahoo.com for each car on the list. Doesn't in any way suggest that a particular person would take a civic over a mustang, or vice-versa.

Well, seeing as how the Civic is one of the top selling and highest quality cars out there built by a company known for reliability....I would say it deserves a lot of attention. Just because it's not a muscle car doesn't mean it's not a good car.

ps. and especially considering gas prices these days, Civics look very attractive for someone that just wants to putt around town and save on gas.

I can understand the fuel conservation aspect of choosing a Civic but to me, there are so much more, better, choices. The Cobalt for starters, is a great car for gas mileage, and then theres the Ford Fusion, and all of them deliver in a nicer package, better interior (IMO), more appealing exterior styling, etc., etc. Yet those didn't make the list.
