Save your money on a Cold Air Intake as most are going to be GREAT for looks but wont give ya the bang for the buck that they are normally known for.

The factory airbox, as ugly as it might be, flows pretty good.

Cold Air Intake Review by JRE

Consider either Long Tube Headers or a set of Rear End gears......

I don't think that there are many mods out there that will give you the satisfaction that eiether of these will.

Good luck and congrats on the new SS!!

No! Please NO!

Should have told him to just do some good old fashioned research.

I dont really see how any intake could just damage a single piston, somebody probably had a damaged 1 and had just got a K&N intake so coincidence but a CAI damaging 1 piston doesnt make a whole lot of sense.... I am not like firing towards you I am just saying if you catch what I mean

That sounds retarded, lol. All cold air intakes systems are similar and work mostly the same. K&N was awesome on my car.

Why would I advise him? Because I can. The same reason why you slapped on a ZL1 bumper when you own a 2SS, because you can?

In anycase its his decision on what he decides to do. Saving up for a bolt-ons or saving up for a package from SLP, Hennessey, etc. Its all the same reallly or just saving up about $5-6k and getting it done. Its his decision if money permits.

Plenty to recommend, though I would start with a CAI & tuner. Take a look at our website (link in my signature) and please let me know if you have any questions.

A tune voids your warranty no matter what. That's one thing I will NOT do.

If your looking for simple mods to wake up your L99 then I would highly recommend a CAI Inc cold air intake kit and a VMAX ported TB.

There are a lot of mods availible for our cars so if your looking for big gains you have plenty of options. But if you're like me and you just wanted some bolt-on's to improve the feel and fun of your L99 without completely throwing your warranty out the window then that's where you should start.

You really think GM can't see the flash?
