Mickey Thompson Street Comp: Update after some AutoX

Looking for some folks reviews on these tires, i've seen a few people have bought them, i'm mostly looking for some people who has autocrossed or done some HPDE on them.

I'll likely do a 275/40 setup all around on stock 20x9s. Looking for something better than the Nitto Invos I have now. The price is right on the M/Ts as well.

My other options are the Continental DW.

I haven't found anybody so far that can say how they perform in that capacity unfortunately. They apparently are a big heavy too which isn't good, I wonder though if that's because of a stiffer sidewall which could possibly out-weigh the extra weight.

I have the Continental DW 275/35 all around on 20x9s. They performed good at the HPDE I went to last year with them. Even with the rain.
In the cold they get flat spots though.

I much prefer them to the stock Pirelli tires when autox driving. They take the hard corners without rolling under and wearing as fast. I all but ruined the front Pirelli's in a single track day, where as the M/T's showed very little wear. I notice no difference in daily driving, so no comfort/handling loss there.

Nice, that was my other option, most likely on stock 20x9s, they make them in 275/40 now too. I have heard the sidewalls are soft so they suffer a bit on turn in, any thoughts on that? Currently i'm running Invos (they came on the car).

Cool, that's some good feedback and somewhat lines up with what i've read on the sidewalls being designed for our heavy cars. Shoulder wear certainly is a big concern with probably 10 autocross events this year for me, the invos seem to be getting some pretty heavy wear on the shoulder, I might should run more pressure in them though.

One of my rears is down to the wear bars in the middle, I doubt they'll pass tech for VIR in April so need to make a choice somewhat soon.

So, i've been doing some digging, lots of people say these are a slightly modified Cooper RS3-S. I don't believe that to be true, they do look similar, however the weight on the 275/40R20 Cooper is listed at 28 lbs. The M/T Street Comp is listed at 34 lbs, there's some major differences in a tire to add that kind of weight. Assuming they're marketing them for heavy muscle cars then I presume it's in the carcass to stiffen it up.

Decided to bite the bullet and check these tires out, i'll report back after I get some autocrosses in. First event is late February and i'll be at VIR in April.

I probably won't have them on for the first couple events of autocross since I still have a bit of life left on the Invos and want to get the most out of them, but I will certainly have them on by March 14th when I get my car tech'd for HPDE this year.

4 275/40R20 was $763 shipped from Summit Racing by the way. Pretty much the cheapest tires for sure, so i'm hoping this isn't a case of you get what you pay for, lol.

Tires arrived today, they certainly look pretty good! The huge tread blocks on the shoulder gives it a pretty aggressive look.

Not sure when i'll have them mounted yet, I might run my first autocross on the Invos since they aren't completely worn out, and I hate to leave some life on the tire lol.

Cool can't wait to see your assessment, I picked up some BFGoodrich G-Force Rivals on Closeout to try for autocross this year.
