Headers. Had an Intake and tune and wasn't very impressed with the power but then added headers. Cam time now

Cam. It gave it that aggressive lope I wanted in my muscle car.

The car had a CAI on it when I bought it. I installed LT headers and chambered exhaust a few weeks ago and love it. Going to put ZL1 6 piston calipers on it this weekend.

First mod was my FOOSE Legend wheels, my first Favorite mod was my CAI intake- sounds GREAT!!! Sound even better after I added the Borla exhaust.

JBA Shorty headers. Already had a tune and intake, but this was the most impressive for power. I can only imagine what long tubes would do.

Skip shift eliminator. Skip shift is the stupidest, most annoying thing ever dreamed up by a car company.

First was 1LE suspension, and I was very happy with it.

Second was Z28 CAI, ported throttle body and a tune, and again, very happy.

Third, was 3.91's, Eaton Trutrac, Solid subframe bushings, and Z28 rear upper control arm bushings, since the rear end was apart anyhow. Radius rod inserts went in too. Very happy with all of this as well.

In process, wheels and tires.

On the radar, axles, driveshaft, stainless steel brake lines, some more suspension tweaks, long tube headers, eventually a cam. Coilovers are probably on the list somewhere as well.

Don't doubt I'll be happy with the end result. Been really happy with everything done so far.

The first thing to remember about the 5th gen is the horrible wheel hop issues and wandering rear cradle. Any power added to the car only exaggerates this, trust me.

That being said, google "The Book of 5th Gen" by Justice Pete.

After reading through that:

1) Suspension Upgrades:
a) Pegasus Solid Rear Cradle Bushings
b) Z/28 Toe Rods
c) Z/28 Lower Control Arms
d) Z/28 Rear Outer Control Arm Bushings
e) Justice Pete 32mm Black Magic Rear Sway Bar
f) Justice Pete Delrin Front Radius Rod Insert Bushing
g) Justice Pete Front Castor Locks
h) Justice Pete Aggressive Street Spec Alignment

This will make your car solid, get rid of wheel hop, ride and handle better in general. I have pulled over 1G so far with this setup, and there is more in it

2) Performance:
a) Cold Air Industries CAI with ADM Race Scoop. This combo was came out #1 in Ted Jannety's exhaustive tests of CAIs.
b) Ported throttle body. This really wakes up the car from a throttle response standpoint.
c) Stainless Power LT Headers and high-flow cats. The good steel and a fraction of the price of Stainless Works, Kooks or ARH. Same power.
d) Tune - either remote or dyno. Dyno Steve had the stock Pirellis, spinning at 60 when the trans would downshift at WOT!! This was before the suspension work. Don't think it would do that now.
e) Resonator (if auto) and muffler delete. This with the cats, will really wake up the sound of the car. With LT headers in addition to this = MANIACAL at WOT!!

If just starting out and had to do it all over again, I would start with the above suspension first. Then, I would do the performance mods.

Lowered 1.4" within 2 months of buying. Wheel gap drove me crazy.
Wasn't until over a year later I got a Borla ATAK catback and CAI intake.

First mod that I knew I had to do right away was get rid of the trash cans. Didn't even put a second thought into it.
