Well you have to remember that most places will not give you Blue Book on a Camaro. KBB and NADA don't mean much to them. The auctions houses are flooded with them. It is going to be on a dealer by dealer basis. You really just have to see what the dealer would give you on an up-sell into an SS. If I were you I'd buy a used SS that has also taken a hit. Check Autotrader and Carmax for some baselines. Around the Washington DC area the trade-in on a 2011 2SS is about $30K. So it's about a $6K loss right out of the gate not including taxes.

The trade will cost you around $10,000. Not to mention a bump in insurance and higher fuel costs in terms of having to pay for higher octane fuel.
But like many have said so far, if you're committed to trading up, definately wait for the 2012 Camaro.

I say wait and see what is offered for the 2012 model year.
My 2LT/RS ABM Camaro got me $27,750. I had it for 1 year and 11 days. It had no sunroof or stripes with 8,515 miles. Above excellent condition. Dealer wanted to give $23,500. I was like Hell No! Give me my keys back! I sold it privately and thats how I got $27,750. I paid 28,995 + TTL (with all discounts I qualified for) when I bought it new.

How is every other year worse than trading every year as is being suggested by the OP?

Get the 2011. The HUD is great. Of course you can put HUD on a 2010.
Good luck on what ever you choose.. :thumbu p: Bill

Don't trade in unless you have to. 2010 Camaro is an easy car to sell. Its still desirable. All you need to do is set the right price which is 100% guaranteed to be higher than what a dealer will give you.
Trading in is the most convenient. Trading in allows easy loan payoff. Trading in will save you a little tax. however... Trading in costs the most. Trading in 'confuses' the deal on the new car, allowing butt reamage on that end of the deal too. Advantage: Dealer

Do it!
I traded my black 2LT/RS in this past Saturday. I had it for about a year. I put 7k down when I got her and my payments didn't go up much after 3k more down on my Cyber Gray 2011 SS. I'm so glad I did the swap. It's like night and day. Do it!!

Your best bet is to sell your car yourself and buy a 2010 SS. An SS/RS can can found in the high $20s. Might even pick up a few free mods.
