SS Badges missing
I just purchased a 2010 2SS. It has all the goodies and I am quite pleased with the performance. However the SS badges are missing from the front grille and rear deck lid. The dealer says some did not come with the badges and the original owner says someone removed them when the car was detailed. Both sound like BS to me...anyone have any thoughts or knowledge on this?

Does it have a heritage grille? These are GM aftermarket and do not come with emblems. You have to add them on. Some people do, some don't. No idea why the emblem would be removed from the rear without replacing on rear panel. Maybe wrecked?

Is it a used car? If so, the previous owner may have removed them. I've also heard some members say their SS badges were stolen off their cars.
Do like the other say and make sure you have a V8 under the hood. |

A SS Badge does not indicate that the car has a V8.

This sounds sketchy. I'm sure sombody just removed them though. The dealer telling you some were built without them is b.s. though. If it indeed is a v8, which I'm not insulting your intelligence so I assume it is, you need to call the dealer on it and get some free badges. Gotta let the people know what you are riding with!!

Yes BS. I guarantee that a SS won't make it off the production line w/o badging. If they have guys that look for tiny specs of dust in the paint, I'm pretty sure they'd notice a badge missing. I mean it's pretty easy, car has a spoiler, it needs a badge.... Not a hard thing to spot. Grant it I heard a story of a guy with an SS that came out to the factory with RS badging, but at least it had badging!
And a detailer wouldn't remove badging either. I mean it's not like they're stuck on with magnets!

I'd bet someone took them off to put the white SS emblems in the center, front and rear.
Then before trade in, stuck the bowties back in there. |

bet it is a LS and made "someone" believe it is a V8.
Seriously, sounds like this is a used car and the PO probably removed the SS badging. |
