I purchased a Ucon 3.73 gear set for my 2010 Camaro.
How do I remove the Differintial and change the gears?

Removing the differential is definitely "do-able" if you have the facilities, tools, and mechanical ability to do it, not that big of a deal. But changing out the gears themselves, is best left to someone with plenty of experience and the special tools (case spreader) necessary to do the job correctly. You will get plenty of differing opinions on this, especially lately, but I am not going to attempt to set-up gears on my own, especially since I've never done it before. I'd feel much more comfortable taking the removed "pumpkin" to someone who knows what they're doing.

Agree w/ blazzin ^^^

Pulling the diff isnt too hard (basically loosen trailing arms & toe links to remove axles, loosen driveshaft, remove 3 differential bolts, remove differential)...but if you have to ask how to install the gears, you're better off letting a pro do it.

Totally agree. You can take out the diff but changing the gears is most definitely NOT a DIY.

I found a DIY on how to remove the diff but leave the gears to a professional that knows what they are doing and have the proper tools.

Better also have micrometer, dial calipers and dial indicator just for starters.

2010 gear change

Thanks guys. I sent the gears back and bought the ILE 3.91 gears from GM. I pulled out the posi with 2 by 4s a piece of 5/4 and wraped a ratcheting sling around the ring gear and it came out straight with no problem. I had to do this to install the posi mod and the billet caps I had machined. Now it's time to send the unit to Tunetime performance for the install. This will save me some $. Thanks deno----
