Aug 19th SCCA at Fedex Field
Hi everyone. I'm coming from Rhode Island to Towson Maryland to visit my brother and I planned for he and I to attend an SCCA event at FedEx Field on Sunday. He got a 2012 Mustang Gt last year and has never been to an event like this so I'm super excited. I know he'll have a blast. Was just wondering if any local C5'ers would be there or might be interested?

It's an SCCA event. Basically it's like a time trial. You drive thru a course of cones as fast as you can. It's a blast and since your not racing with other people and it's only cones there is basically no risk to you or your car. You get a few runs through the course to try and improve your time. It's only $45 if your not an SCCA member and it goes in waves. You're in one of three groups. One runs the course one at a time. The second works the course, so if a car hits a cone or knocks it over you run up and place it back for the next car coming through. And the third is on break and it rotates.

Autocross. I've done it at FedEx once. It's a pretty nice area for it. Use blue painters tape on the front, rear, and just in front of your tires. These are the standard areas that tend to get hit by cones if you run off course. The cones don't do any real damage, but they can leave some good scuffs that are a pain to buff out.
