OnStar + Smartphones = Dope!

If you guys have a Droid or an iPhone, you should check out the OnStar Application. It's called OnStar MyLink and it can be used to sound your horn/alarm when you can't locate your car, monitor all your vital signs remotely [fuel tank level, fuel range, remaining oil life, tire pressure, etc.]. The app also allows you to remotely lock/unlock and for AT6 cars, do a remote start from unlimited range. It's got a few other nifty features, but you guys should really check 'em out on your own.

It's pretty damn slick!

Still doesn't justify the cost of onstar. IMO it's a shame onstar isn't priced more reasonably for what it offers, say, $4-5 a month.

What's better, 500k subscribers @$5/mo or 125k @$15? i'd think volume of users would be more important but hey, what do i know?

It amazes me how big companies think sometimes. Always too afraid to do something like lower prices; god forbid you get 3X the customers........ geez. If you know it's good, and people want it, why not make it affordable?!

Whats even worse now, is that they have to shove this in our faces now with tv commercials for it. I still get pissed everytime I see one.

Jerk!

jk

Touchy subject. Find the last post on this, and you will see what we mean. Then again, GM is try to sell to sell new cars. Each year has to be an improvement over the previous year.
