Wheel Damage
I damaged my front right side wheel off a curb and the only wheel refinishing place around here said they can't fix it because the midnight silver (he said it is the same as hyper silver) is not a color they carry. He said not many places are able to fix it.
Anyone have any suggestions? :(

If it can't be fixed and you don't want to spring for the factory rims, try Tire Discount. They have replica rims @ $165 a pop. There are painters out there that can probably match the midnight silver color for $100 or so - might have to check around a little more. Also, maybe some used on Ebay.

It may be a good time to get them all painted, coated or chromed ... Or if you are going to park it for the winter, do it then ...

Dealer wanted $600 to take it off and send it to carcones, and said it would take about a week.
I called carcones directly, they said they can paint the wheel for $120 but it won't be the same. Also said it would take just a few hours. Does anyone know if the midnight silver RS wheels are powder coated? Or are they just painted? Thanks guys.

I think the wheels are just painted.
The wheels are aluminium, so if you wanted they could all be polished then sealed, but repainting them might be cheaper. ED |

i agree i would consider powder coating all the wheels or just buy a new rim. depending on what you like. post a pic of the damage, is it bad?

You could have all of them taken off, powder coated any color you want and put back on for less than $500.

Don't feel bad guys, I scuffed mine too! I just used some touch up paint for now. The match is terrible, but it looks better than scratched. I will try a better match maybe in the spring time.

If you do a search I found on another post where you can buy the paint. I'm in the same boat, minor scuff on the front right rim, still freakin pissed about it 3 weeks later...

Forget all that just keep an eye out for a set in the classifieds from the members classified section http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=104 . Something will come up you can count on it for a lot less money.
