Question about deceleration poping

Call me crazy but I love the sound of the pops on decel (DFCO). Now I was just wondering for you cat-less people with DFCO still on and LT headers, do you still get the popping? Im not sure as to where the actual backfire comes from i.e. exhaust ports or in the actual cat itself. I'm purchasing catless headers for money reasons, but i do not want to loose the awesome popping. So do you catless people still have the decel pops?

Hi flow cats and MBRP catback...lots of DFCO popping. It's a misfire as the fuel leans out. DFCO disabled, no pops.

I have headers, no cats with the gm performance exhaust and mine pops like crazy. It can be tuned out as said though.

I hate that damn popping noise. When I finally cam & tune, that'll go bye-bye.

I have no idea why people would love a car to "pop". It used to mean that the car was tuned shitty so I think it still makes the car sound like its running like shit.

Couldn't agree more. I wish it would do that more often when I'm cruising around town. Usually its only when I'm in a dead area that it happens.

That's how I feel about it too. This especially applies to turbo cars.
