Jackcobra (Jack) and sscamaro(Ralph) put together a plan for the September meet. The idea is to cruise from Michael’s Restaurant / Redner’s parking lot in Douglassville up to the Pagoda, (http://www.readingpagoda.com/) in Reading.

For the Audubon crew, we will meet at Starbucks as usual. Meets usually start sometime after 9 and continue until we leave for Douglassville. Sscamaro has requested that we leave around 10:30 so we can meet up with the Douglassville crew around 11.

For the Douglassville crew, please plan on arriving around 10. Park behind Michael’s Diner in Redner’s parking lot. It is much bigger. You may purchase coffee at either place. Redner’s Supermarket has restroom facilities.

Douglasville is about 22 miles NW of Audubon via 422 west.

Here are some additional details for the cruise.

Directions from Redner’s parking lot at the rear of Michael’s Diner on Route 422.
Out of Redner’s parking lot turn left on route 662 for 9.5 miles. (13 min.)
Left at traffic light onto Freindsburg Rd.
After 3 miles stay to the right.
Go 5.2 miles turn right on Antietam Rd.
Go .3 miles turn left onto Angora Rd.
Go 1.7 miles turn right on Bingaman Rd.
Go .5 miles turn left on Skyline Dr.
Go 1.7 miles turn left into Fire Tower Parking lot.

Visit Fire tower and Pagoda.

Proceed down Skyline Drive.
Turn left at stop sign and immediately turn Right at next stop sign onto 13th St.
Go past Reading High School.
Bare right onto Hampton Blvd.
Stay straight; DO NOT get onto route 12 east or west. That is Spring Valley Rd.
Pass Bachman’s Pretzel, bare right on other side of bridge.
At traffic light turn right on Kutztown Rd.
Go 1.8 miles turn left on Elnore Rd.
Go through traffic light to Target Parking lot.

5 Guys Burgers & Fries is there.


To get to Douglassville from Audubon:
via PA-662 / Old Swede Rd
About 22 miles

Head west on Egypt Rd toward Oaks,
2.2 mi
Take ramp right for US-422 West toward Pottstown
19.5 mi
Turn right onto PA-662 / Old Swede Rd
0.1 mi
Arrive at PA-662 / Old Swede Rd


These are all weather permitting. If the last Sunday is cancelled due to weather the meet gets pushed back one week. If it is again cancelled, it is then skipped for that month.

Talked to George last night about the times for the meet. The people meeting at the Audobon should leave there at 10:30 AM so you arrive at Michael’s Restaurant / Redner’s parking lot in Douglassville by 11 AM.
