My 1987 vs. Bone Stock Camaros
What would my corvette do against a 5th gen stock v6 2012 and a 5th gen stock SS model? I know my car is rated for 14's at 90ish but it might have a cam. Chilton's manual said rated to run at 400 rpm stock. I'm idling at 900 when warm and all hoses were replaced by my dealer. I just know this car has weight advantage.

With the v6 probably drivers race and the ss would win.

If you cam and headers I would think it would be a good race with a stock SS, but who knows I never seen your vette with a cam run the 1/4 before.

with a cam (plus all the boltons) you might lose to an LS3 camaro by about maybe 4 car lengths. Maybe 3.
Cam only and the rest stockish? expect to lose by maybe 7 car lengths or so. |

Bone stock SS with "rookie" driver was getting 13.8ish at around 104 MPH through the trap... with experience, could do a bit better.

Even if your mods added 100 hp (240 stock hp), that puts you still about 86 hp shy of a stock SS. You do enjoy about a 600lb weight advantage. I think your gonna lose to a stock LS3.

It would look like you wanting an SS when all said and done.
