2010 L99 35MPH LOUD Rear end Noise

Had car at Dealer, and 2 other shops, Told nothing is wrong, at 35 MPH very loud noise, seams to be coming for rear of car, all 3 Shops can hear noise, its loud. Said its the tune, No Way, wounded it be doing it at other times/RPM,s and it sounds like it is coming for the rear of the car. Does it sound like a differential? All 3 shops said everything is tight, driveshaft was checked on oil lift and the ground. Have to give the car gas for the noise to go away, when let off gas noise its back. Car does not shack, can't feel anything on floor or in shifter or steering wheel. A little over 46K Miles, Thank You!

Does it track with vehicle speed, engine speed, or neither?

Does it when steady gas, but under acceleration its fine. Hills it does it pretty good. But does it on flat road as well, loud too not as loud as on a hill, goes away under acceleration as well. Starts at 35mph. Its currently geting 9.1 Miles per gallon, think that is a different Issue tho. That did not happen when noise started.

Replacing differential bushings with stiffer set can drive more driveline/structure borne noise from rear end up thru body structure, the softer OEM set provides some dampening. Not saying this is the Red X, but it is likely a contributor.

Sounds like another improperly set up differential... I'm pretty sure it's caused by not enough preload on the diff carrier bearings (too little preload causes the gear teeth to "chatter" at light load).

I thought mine was doing that too at 29k miles, but I've since done a diff oil change and it's somewhat gone after a nice long road trip (2000 miles).

I agree, diff bushings transfer some noise - mine definitely has a little howl to it in the 40-50mph range at extremely light loads. Clicking and clunking, as the OP describes, sounds like something else entirely though.

Not sure car goes to the shop in September, that is to just be looked at then make another appointment to have her fixed. Also to see why its using so much fuel. Thinking O2 sensors, since they ripped out and a shop welded them back in

Alright, had car checked, Driveshaft Donuts where spit. Not sure if the clunk was that or not, think its b/c of broken cats. Also the gas problem was b/c Knock Sensor Wire was melted, replaced that and sensor, Replaced Cylinder 8 Coil Pack, changed plugs. End Links Are frozen, so I had to order them, called ARH and ordered the cats, called Dealer and order the Donuts. I think Knock Sensor had something to do with the Noise at 35, does not sound like it did at all. Unless from the BMR endlinks that frozen. Ordered a new set of BMR's hope they work on stock Sway bar, ELK006 ? The way car is now Runs a hell of a lot better!
