If Cayman S = ZL1

Hi guys,

If you were offered Porsche Cayman S 2014 for the same ZL1 price, which one would you go for?

Note: The Cayman is 3.4 PDK with Chrono sport package

Easy choice, Cayman S. That car is $70,000 with PDK and Sport Chrono Package.

Easy choice in my opinion. The ZL1 is a hell of a car and you get a lot for your money, but the Cayman S is simply more. If the money was the same, the Cayman is the clear choice.

Depends on how many seats you need.

If you only want 2, then I'd be looking at a Vette.

Very subjective. I personally can't stand the way Porsches look. I've always felt that way, because they still look the same. Don't get me wrong I would love to drive a 911 Turbo but for that money I'd look at something else.

Its a great deal but then after awhile you'd want a 911. Caymans have never even registered on my car radar. Just do what makes you happy. If looking at it doesn't make you smile don't buy it.

The reason why Im asking is because our dear dealer here sells the Camaro SS for around 51K when the Cayman S base starts at 59K.

I was shouting in the GM Regional Representative face last week against these crazy prices. They are shooting their own feet and killing their market.

A friend of mine who owns a Camaro SS and was dying to have a ZL1, couldnt get it because it was reserved minutes before he made it to the show room.

The guy exploded there, sold his SS immediately and bought a Porsche Cayyane as he couldnt bear facing the Chevy dealer again.

I hope that GM listens to us.

ZL1, it's so much nicer, sounds so much better, and I would only get a muscle car but that's just me. I'd get a super car though like a lambo or ferrari... Stuff like that

Do you want power or finesse? Once you make that decision, picking the car is easy.

Not a fan of Porsche so I'd keep my ZL1. Also I wouldn't say that German > USA. Both countries make great cars
