SSX:
3700/524 = 7.06 lb/hp
I will have to check on the weight of the SSX, but using the American Iron Camaro as an example, weight could be drastically less than 3700. I believe the Carriage House Customs car (see video below) came in at 3450 wet (fuel & driver). There was a LOT of lightening on that car, BUT, absent was any carbon paneling.

The SSX is VERY similar to this car, which is why we were on top of our game when it came to the suspension for the SSX.

That would be great if you could get the weight of the SSX. I knew I was being conservative, but I would never have figured you could cut that much out.

youd be surprised how much lighter this car will get by stripping things out. the seats being replaced with carbon fiber race seats can drop about 25lbs a piece. my new carbon fiber hood i just bought only weighs 27lbs.

Quick question, what did the aluminum hood you are replacing weigh versus the carbon fiber one you just bought? Just wanted to see how much weight savings there is in that swap.

So True. Even at its lightest, it is still on the heavy side of being a competitive race car. But weight savings can happen quickly in OT trim! The front cradle on the AI Camaro race car took a ton of weight out. Although I think the SSX has the OE front cradle. That is just an example though.

I might be totally wrong, but it has been my underestanding that the OE hood was aluminum. And I'm just trying to see what different mods might do as I have not bought a new Camaro yet.

It is aluminum. From my understanding there isn't much savings from aluminum to CF.
