Journal de Chris

Time to start my journal/journey

Day 1 - 7/12/10

My transmission was going out in my 05 Jeep Liberty, so decided to buy a new car versus fixing. Was looking at a used Civic (I drive over 120 miles a day) at Maik Haik Chevy here in Houston, but the salesman said something that caught my attention. He asked why I kept looking over at the other lot, what has me drawn over there.

I didn't realize it, but I kept looking over at her.... the 2010 CGM 2SS/RS ride my heart was sold on. When I told him, he offered to let me drive it, just to see what I thought. I stated it was probably out of budget (a lie, but he did not have to know that) but he said he would make it work. She had 40 miles, been on the lot for a month and was aching to be brought home. We started at 100 over invoice and quickly watched the price drop. After about two easy hours, with trade in, we were in the mid twenties that was all she wrote. Before we left that day, ended up with a couple of free items:

2 oil changes
wheel locks
tint

They also replaced the rotors since they had rusted sitting out in the rain. They said that after a couple of taps on the brakes that it would clear off, but only the best for her.

Since it had been raining everyday since she was brought home, did not have a chance to get outside and give a good wash/wax/seal, so detailed the interior. Zaino, you are a God send on leather and exterior. The results are nothing short than amazing . Had to do it all by hand, but added that extra touch I believe. Will be investing in a buffer shortly since 7 hours of work is a little much.

Also started noticing something. When friends/coworkers get in the car, my caution of watching their feet against the door was being ignored. Yesterday, went to EmblemPros.com and got myself their brushed stainless steel door protectors to keep her safe from scratches and scuffs. I do not understand it.... when I get into another persons vehical/house/office/anything, I am always respectful and make sure I treat it as if it were my own. Maybe I am just being anal... DON'T KICK THE DOOR!!!! I even take out my wallet to ensure I don't leave an indention in the leather. Oh well, problem solved.

Just got back from getting the tint done and tomorrow will give a quick wash (Zaino z7) and spray over with z6 to prepare for Sunday. Going to meet up with the H-Town Camaro Club at the monthly C&C in The Woodlands.

Next up:

Lloyd Matts (Camaro Racing vertically)
Black Bowties
Borla ATAK Mufflers
CAI (waiting for Janetty results)
Ghost Armor
376/6.2 L badges for hood (Debating)
Painted Calipers
ABL for Dash
Lighting for under seat (Debating)
Blue Dome LED Light

Places to Go:
C5 Fest
Road Trip to Key West

More to come, please feel free to leave ideas or comments!

Mid 20s DAMN, what did they give you for the Liberty?

Sweet deal.

Oh, and why no pics?

Almost a requirement.

Congrats on the ride.

Exhaust is on and I love it... today was great and horrible. Great because my first mod is on. Horrible because was arguing with work, via bluetooth, and while backing out of the driveway made a small adjustment on the wheel and fell off the curve..... cheese grated the HELL out of my driver side bumper.

I just dont get it, when does a person catch a break

Congrats Chris... Can't wait to watch your story unfold..

Question: Are you painting or powdercoating the calipers? I want mine done, but the guy here is backed up probably 3 months and I missed the initial group buy so now it's an extra hundred bucks..

Who knows, might meet you at the Fest in April - just waiting on the date, supposed to be announced soon..

Good luck.. Lori
