Finally joining the ranks after 4 long years.
I have been in love with the new Camaro ever since seeing the concept debut in Silver and tout around as a Sunrise Yellow Bumblebee Camaro from the Transformers franchise. I found Camaro5 from searching on Google trying to see if anyone came forward about winning the Camaro sweepstakes from the first Transformers movie. Lo and behold, someone did and they came here to ask questions about the new Camaro. I lurked around for a few months and finally registered, even though I didn't own a Camaro yet.
Everyone was really accepting of those of us that didn't own but were Chevy and Camaro fans. I got a chance to drive an LT that I rented from Hertz back in 2010. This was a dream come true. Just being inside and able to drive one was like heaven. After that, my love affair with Camaro died down some. I had my chance to drive one and I knew I wouldn't be able to own one any time soon. But I never forgot. Not long after that, we had the opportunity and funds to be able to rent an SS Convertible! The power was amazing. I knew that this would one day be my car and I wouldn't start with anything less than an SS. This is also when my wife came to share my love of the Camaro. A few months after that we went into a local dealership to see if owning a Camaro could become a reality. Unfortunately, we didn't have the financial means of getting into one at that time. But there was a great deal on a 2011 Impala that lowered our monthly payment compared to the previous car we were paying on. It was a year old model but technically new, so it had a huge rebate that helped us get financed. So at least I was finally in a Chevy. We had that for 2 years and since moved into a new apartment. Again, I cast off my infatuation with Camaro for a while because it wasn't going to become reality any time soon. Enter 2013 Black Friday shopping. We weren't planning of spending that much this holiday. But we got a flier in the mail that had a chance to win $500,$1000, or $25000 at the dealership we bought the Impala from. Even a chance to win a Chevy Volt! So I figured why not, might as well try and win some cash and look at the new 2014 Camaros and Corvette Stingray. We get there, no dice on the bonus cash. But I see some great sales price on a few Camaros. I told myself a while ago I wouldn't settle for anything less than an SS as my first one. But there happened to be a manual 6-speed LS in Red Hot on the lot. I hadn't driven a manual Camaro yet so I hunted down a salesman took it out for a spin. WHAT A RUSH! Even though it's only 323 HP, driving it with a shifter felt so much more exhilarating and powerful than an automatic. My wife and I discussed what we could put down with our trade in, even though being upside down still on the Impala. We figured we'd take a shot at it. To finish up, we got financed at a lower rate and our payment dropped vs the Impala. Now we are the proud owners of a 2014 Red Hot LS Camaro, 6-speed manual!!! We waited by our old car for 15 minutes for them to bring out our freshly detailed Camaro like waiting for a newborn to be brought back from it's first checkup! I enjoy every minute of driving this beautiful car and can't wait to make it even more our own. We plan on some vinyl striping or possibly even an entire hood wrap in faux carbon fiber, an SS spoiler when they're available for purchase, and a few performance upgrades like CAI and cat-back exhaust. Oh, and my 4 year old son absolutely loves our Red Bumblebee! Thanks for reading!

Nice. My story is kind of similar. Never thought I could own one. When my Civic took a shit I was looking at used SI's and Genesis coupe, then I got a promotion and a raise and dream came true

That is a very good story. I am very happy for you that your long wait paid off. Sometimes the wait makes the end result even better!
