ACS T3 Hood Ports
Does anyone have a black camaro with these hood ports installed? I've searched and can't find any pictures of black camaros with them. If you have a pic can you post them up so I can decide if it will look good or not. Anyone in general who has them installed, do you recommend buying them? It's $500 so I don't want to spend the money if it's going to look stupid. Thanks

Cannot advise you purchasing these. Couple of members including myself have had issues with them. They glue into place....Myself and another memebers had to finally use rivets for them to be secure. I got tierd of messing with them and finally purchased another hood

That sucks that you have to glue them on, that sounds like a poor way to install them. Thanks for the advice, I might have to change my mind about these. Once you cut those holes in the hood, there's no turning back haha. I'm not a big fan of the hex vents. I thought about installing the ZL1 centerpiece for the hood, but I have stripes on it and don't think that will look good. I guess I'll just save my money. Thanks again guys!

Sorry Rico but would stay away from any pieces that glue in on the hood. Hex vents are actually a very good product and require no gluing in place. On black they look really really good and aggressive as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I was thinking of buying these too.....so what happened, the glue is not good dealing with the heat from your engine? I have FI and LT, etc etc so i have extra heat.

To be honest, assuming issues are from heat. Myself along with another member had issues with under hood brackets coming loose on multiple occasions.
If wanting these vents mmy suggestion is to use Rivets to hold peices under the hood in place along with adhesive given. The rivets can be concelled or painted, but will solve the issue with brackets under the hood falling off. The MAJOR POTENTIAL ISSUE is the hood shock is relocated and attaches to the passenger side new bracket. If the brake/panel dislodges while hood is up it would the hood would come crashing down. Not a good scenerio....Will attempt to find photos giving you an idea what refereing to with rivets. Once rivets are used should resolve above issues. |

Here is some photos....Basically the vents are a three peice system. One you have a peice that sits on top of you hood. This is glued in which gives the vent appearnce. Secondly you have a peice which mounts under side of hood. This gives a finish out look underneath and helps hold water splash panels in place. Thirdly you have the water splash panels which can be removed and held in place by two bolts
Here is a photo showing underside brackets in place. You can also see blue lines indicating location of rivets. I chose not to paint mine due to getting new hood. Normally zero rivets and only held in place with adhesive given in packet. You can also see on passenger side where hood brace has been relocated to be on bracket. In this photo you can see the hood shock relocated along with the water splash tray in place..If you were to paint the rivets would look much better...If you look closly the water splash trays have two tabs towards top of hood which slide into holes. Slide those tabs into holes on bracket then secure lower part of splash trays to bracket with two bolts toward middle of the hood if that makes sense |

Never had a problem with the CAI. Had the peices painted by a body shop. TRC-SS painted his rivets, but unsure if used touch up paint or had a shop do the painting. With the Rivet method that under peice is not going anywhere. Both TRC-SS and I ran ours without the spalsh trays since not daily driver.

Yea i used much smaller rivots and just used touch up paint. but they are not going anywere.
And FYI.....if you have center rally stripes the edges of the port will cut into the stripe area
