What kind of exhaust system do you have?

Hello guys,

Soon enough it'll be time for me to get an exhaust system for my 1ss. With so many choices to choose from I really need some opinion.

So far I kind of narrowed down to the Borla S-type VS Touring but still open to other brands. Besides from the sound, any difference between Stype and the Touring?

What's a good sound vs increase in horsepower combo?

Last week I had Kooks headers,high-flow cats, and Borla S-Type installed along with other parts. I am loving the Kooks/Borla combo. Loud but not ear piercing loud. And with the cam...OMG

I have the Borla S and love it. Do your research by listening in person as much as possible. Go to some local meets and just talk to everybody. See if you can take a quick spin around the parking lot to get a feel as well. The difference in the touring and Stinger is the S is lower in pitch and got a beefier sound. As for combinations for best performance gains, depends. Remember, when you get to putting headers, really need to do a tune to take advantage and clear error codes. If you are not wanting to do this (since it voids warranty), not worth it in my opinion....

Hope that helps

Gone full circle...

I've had:

1. Cherry Bomb Extreme axle back (had drone and sounded like dual Honda fart cans at idle)
2. Magnaflow Competition axle back (essentially an expensive muffler delete - sounded OK)
3. Magnaflow Competition axle back with JBA catted midpipes (decel popping too loud!)
4. Magnaflow Street Series axle back with JBA catted midpipes (quieter than stock!)

...I didn't like any of the above much so...now I'm back to running just the stock cat-back with the JBA high-flow catted midpipes.
