Cheap Mobil1 XP

just a FYI....

Advanced Auto Parts is selling 5 quarts of Mobil1 synthetic and a Mobil1 filter for $29.99... even the "extended performance" stuff that usually sells for $8/qt.

http://advanceauto.shoplocal.com/adv...nceAuto-090827

thats ~$53 worth of Mobil1 for $30

But Wait!!!!

...........if you act now.....

you get a $10 mail in rebate...

https://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English...llustrated.pdf

so thats $53 worth for $20

I just bought 15qts and 3filters for $60... (it was $160 before the cashier entered the promotion)

I concur. I picked up 10 quarts and 2 M1-113 oil filters today and it's only for the regular M1, not the EP. I also picked up their 3 ton floor jacks for $30 too. So I spent the same amount as you! Good deals I think...

Just remember everyone, the sale is through the 30th so stock up! Note the mail-in rebate is only for M1 EP.

It gets better. Save $10 off your purchase of $25 or more by entering their contest!

http://advancegrandopenings.com/

This plus the special plus the mail-in rebate (if buying EP)...you might be making money!

What is the mobile 1 filter # for the LS3 engine? I may pick some up while the sale is still on.

The store should be able to tell you but if I remember correctly, it's M1-113.

In the long run you're probably only saving maybe $5-8 not including the mail-in rebate. I say this because the regular price for a 5 quart jug of regular M1 at Walmart is $22. Add the price of the oil filter (I haven't bought one at regular price so I'm guessing ~$15.00) so you're saving just a couple bucks. Of course this is better than nothing! I just point this out in case someone misses the sale.

Note: I found a mail-in rebate form via Google for regular M1. It's a $10 rebate if you buy 6 quarts of M1. This one can be used in conjunction with the above stated sale since they are both for regular M1.

I just used this coupon today. It came out to be $21.59 after taxes for 5 quarts of M1 and an oil filter. Awesome deal!!

tell them to try and ring up the EP...

They told me it would not work, but then they rang it up and it worked after all.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but from what i know and confirmed with Mobil 1 this past Wednesday , they do not have an oil filter out yet for the V6Camaro . I have done three oil changes with Dino oil on my 2LT already ( I get free oil changes from my Dealership) , one @ 1000 mi. , the other @ 2000 mi and the previous one @ 2500 mi. which is when i switched over to Mobil 1 and have been using the AC Delco PF-2129 (which is what is called for the V6Camaro)for all three changes .. Plus the V6 takes only 6 qts. so if your thinking of doing TWO oil changes in the near future , you are going to be short two quarts , one short for each oil change or at least two on the 2nd change.. If i was you i would pick up two more qts. and the right oil filter if the Mobil 1 filter is wrong to cover yourself for both.

Can you please give me the Mobil 1 oil filter part# you picked up for your LT/Camaro ?

Thanks..

Any time you can get a sale like that , go for it and worry about the filter later (if they do not have the right filter for the car) when you need too and then swap it out.
I do the same thing when oil/filter bundles are on sale . I buy enough for at least 2-3 oil/filter changes..

Check my post again i just added more information i think you should know about ..

Owners Manual section 11-2
Engine Oil w/ Filter

3.6L V6 Engine : 6-qts
6.2L V8 Engine : 8-qts
(L99 & LS3)

V6 : SAE 5w-30 GM6094M
Do Not use 10w-40, 20w-50 or any other viscosity grade oil not recommended

V8 : SAE 5w-30 / GM4718M (L99 & LS3) Mobil 1 is Factory fill ..
Do Not use 10w-40,20w-50 or any other viscosity grade oil not recommended

AC-Delco PF-2129 is the right oil filter for the V6 .

Here's the best place to find any part for your 2010 Camaro:

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/shoppingcart.php

http://www.rockauto.com/

Also if you want to cross reference this with others like the K&N HP-7003 and others , here is the chart to confirm that the PF-2129 is the right filter for the V6:

http://www.knfilters.com/search/kn_c...x?part=HP-7003

Hope this helps ...
