Are you thinking V-Rod instead of hot rod?

I know they are absolutely beautiful, unfortunately I haven't had a ride on them. Even all the crotch rocket kiddies think they are pretty bad ass that I've talked too.

On a side note Joe- I saw your screen name in the off-topic and did like a triple take...

I'd be willing to bet you've had your behind in nearly every motor vehicle known to man. I should've checked with you before I posted this like I check the internet before I ask a question...

Can you comment on the comfort-level of the bike? It would be used as a cruiser, not a racer...primarily...and I'd hate to have to stop every 20 miles to fix my back.

Yeah, well...I'd take their opinion on a bike with about as much salt as I do a Prius' owner's thoughts on the Camaro...all I know is I think it's flipping gorgeous.

That's just what I was hoping to hear! I trust your opinion a great deal, and with this...it seems Harley really did hit one out of the park when they introduced this line of bikes. Huh.

Not surprisingly...the motorcycle world doesn't have nearly the number of mainstream road-test publications as the car world does...so I only found one or two writer's opinions on it. And of course, they contradicted each other.

Thanks, Junkie!

I've owned a sporty, superglide, wideglide and electraglide. Notice I said at the top I test road the v-Rod. That's my opinion. Though stock it's quicker than them all. Just no for me.

The cool thing about these bikes is that there are a ton of aftermarket parts for them. Mustang, corbin, and LePera all make seats for this bike. The pipe options for this bike are endless.

They do have the MUSCLE sound you are looking for. They don't sound like a mosquito on steroids.

I would have one but it's not practicle for me.

Thanks, I like all three current VRSC bikes, but...I'd like something less dark than the Night Rod.

And the V-Rod Muscle looks better, imo -- but the dual tailpipes can be a problem at stop-lights...so I've read.

Not quite. Those bikes run upwards of $40,000 +, and the V-rod is $15k. Which is the only reason I'm considering it.

A buddy of mine has a Boss....scariest machine I'll ever be on.

Thanks!! I've noticed that about the aftermarket...if the music isn't to my liking, I can easily find some replacement pipes that'll help.

I'm looking for something fun...and passenger/cargo isn't a concern...so this would fit the bill. I have a lot of thinking to do.

I've owned 2 Sportsters, 1 Wide Glide, 1 Road King, 1 Ultra, and 2 Fat Boys. All since 2001. That being said, I test rode a V-Rod the day they were introduced. Ummm Ok, not my idea of a Harley, it was fast, smooth, solid feel and had a nice sound to it. Prefer my latest Fat Boy with big bore, cams and tuned to any Harley I have owned to date. Just my opinion.

Thats right I kept forgetting ,HDs are made mostly in Japan now.
The Vrod would of cost $40,000 just a few years back.

$20,000 only use to get you what was on the showroom floor while you waited 6months and another $30,000 to get what you really wanted.
