i heard that we need a helmet to run down the track anyone know about this?

I just checked the dragway's rules and it states:

Driver must wear a helmet if car is quicker than 13.99 in 1/4 mile.

Amelia, can I borrow your helmet, please?

I did the 1/4 mile in 14.26 seconds last year. I'm being optimistic that I can beat that this year.

With street tires it's harder than it seems to get into the 13's, there is just no traction. Usually the first time you break into the 13's w/no helmet they'll just give you a warning not to do it again. Then you might want to just run the 1/8 mile, or lift off the gas right before finish. Or if you plan on leaving after your run save your best for last.

If you know someone with motorcycle helmet you can borrow that, it will work as well. You usually don't need a Snell rated for test and tune. Depending on the amount of cars in the staging lane you might be able to borrow one there too.

In other words, don't let a lack of a helmet dissuade you from going out onto the track!

Also, bring long pants and closed shoes. I don't know if they'll be enforcing these rules for the Crooz, but they may.

Dam, my car is getting drivetrain/engine work/supercharging now. Wont be done til the end of the month. You have to take a ride down the track. Last year was my 1st time down and it was a blast.

Didnt need a helmet at Capital, but each track is different. I think i would need a roll bar after mods are done.

I'm registered!! Can't wait to meet everyone. I'll porobably need a Zoo Crooz and Race track 101 lesson when I get there, as this is a new adventure for me!

Okay Most of us live in the DELMARVA area....and I think it's pretty safe to say that weather around here isn't consistent enough for us to make any accurate prediction on whether it's going to rain yet or not i mean when has Marty Bass Gotten weather right lately anyway.. it's only a 40% chance right now... not very good. well see.

I signed up and had planned on attending but the weather situation is not looking very promising and if it's raining I'm definitely scratching.
Hopefully if we do get rained on they will do a reschedule.
