What next? Or am I done?

Im getting American Racing headers next month and that will complete my current wishlist for my car. at that point I will have rotofab CAI, sw catback, American racing headers and a tune. My goal once I get the headers and tune is 420 rwhp. I talked to the shop about heads and cam pricing and they shot me with prices over $5k and of cource turbo/superchargers are going to be even more.

What else can I do for more power?

port your TB. and Manifold. maybe the wedge from vararam. squeeze a bit more out of it before cams and heads. i am in the same boat. i have the 2 things you dont and manifold porting would be my next project. 3.91s gear ratio set up the rear end. and thats it. then save up for cam and heads and maybe a 100 or 150 shot to finish it off. but yea good luck.

You should definitely hit your goal with that setup. But if you're wanting more power while staying NA, cam and head combo is really your only other choice unless you dip into the giggle juice. But shop around. There is a place in Delaware called Horse Power Addicts I saw advertising cam installs for a LS3 starting at $1750 which is a crazy good price. I believe that includes all labor and a dynotune as well. If they were closer, I'd definitely be hitting them up.

head i heard of them. but for me its a 44 hour drive to that shop. and 4400 ish km one way. so it would be a fun road trip forsure. but if only there were shops like them closer to home would be awesome. cuz for that price cant go wrong.

Exactly haha. I think they should invest in a car moving package as well bring in customers that are less than ideal driving distances from them.

Thanks for choosing then Roto-fab CAI, and please let me know if you ever have any questions or concerns about the system!

It's about the same gain as a ported TB. It's worth doing but I usually tell people to wait on doing until cam swap.

Is the electric water pump worth doing?

My concern is reliability. I'm sure it can't be more than 5-7 HP? But that, along with an UD pulley, PTB and even rod mod...the numbers start adding up.

It does. Can't do racer math with it but it does add up to a degree. I haven't heard of any issues with good epumps but not sure on how much they are driven.

I have 5k miles on mine already and I have several friends with cars that have 20k - 40k miles on theirs. Its reasonable to send them to Mezier and get them rebuilt as well. When that time comes you have them take the bearing off the motor. Great thing about the Mezier is you can do away with all the tensioner pulleys and end up with just a short belt on the AC and alternator like this. This alone frees up the engine and lets it be a little more responsive. Sorry for the dirty engine bay I daily my car and yes the Mezier has a little weep to it, that's pretty much the way they are.
