Exhaust Question
Guys,
I know this an age old question, and I know about the "Search" function... However, I am looking for some quick answers from my fellow SS owners here. In your experience, what is the deepest sounding catback/axleback exhaust for the LS3 Camaro SS? Your opinions/comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, guys!! Take care, and God Bless. EDIT: I appreciate all the videos, guys. But, I guess I should have specified that I would like to see/hear "Bone Stock" videos.

Love my flowmasters, but it all really didn't give me what I wanted until I experienced them with high flow cats and headers... most importantly, no drone.
The LS3 is a great sounding engine... open up its air pipes (intake/exhaust) and it'll give you what you want, that deep sound. Get what you want and you'll probably not be disappointed either way... just don't let it drone on you, tighten/bolt/weld down everything properly and you'll be fine. You know, funny thing... you never really know how it sounds until someone else drives it away. When I took it in for the brake job this past weekend, the mechanic took it out around the block to check the alignment... inside the vehicle, it all sounds amazing to me. Seeing/Hearing it from the outside... holy crap! Ya just don't to mess with something that sounds like that. |

An age old question deserves an age old answer....
Start at the engine and work your way back. In other words, spend your money on performance first. You just might be really happy with headers into the OE exhaust. If not, you can tinker from there.

We chose to do headers after the warranty is up. So I did a cherry bomb extreme (muffler not the glass pack) axle back and custom X pipe. Mine is a L99, so not sure how the LS3 factory x pipe looks. Gave it a nice deep rumble. I love it. But headers make a huge difference, but for us we wanted to keep War Horse's warranty in tact as long as possible. Some dealers frown on headers if you need warranty work.

I'd have to say that Magnaflow offers the Lowest/deepest tone with the most bass. The 3" comp series coupled with LT headers sounds killer.
Let me know if I can answer any questions for you. Best regards, Tyler 888-308-6007 |

I regret getting the Borla S-type cat back I have before the headers. I ended up getting headers not too long after anyways. I could have spent more on go-fast mods (gears pop into mine for the $1100 I paid for the catback...). I had the GMPP "borla touring" exhaust anyway. Live and learn I suppose. |

Ya the catback is $650 free shipping on Juiced motorsports. Also, in the video he has longtube headers with highflow cats

I appreciate all the videos, guys. But, I guess I should have specified that I would like to see/hear "Bone Stock" videos. I have no plans to install LTs, or any other mods to my car. Well, maybe getting the windows tinted wouldn't be out of the question...LOL. Thanks for all the replies.
