Unhappy Does ordering a Camaro guarantee you a Camaro?

I know that question sounds stupid but hear me out. I ordered a 2023 2SS (not 1LE) June 18th and it's at 1100 status. My salesman said I was priority "6" if that helps any but does ordering a Camaro guarantee you to receive one? Nevermind the time, I will wait a year but is there a chance I just *won't* get one since the Camaro is leaving soon?

No guarantee until 2000 status as far as I am aware.

2000 status means the order was accepted, but gm may still decide to cancel it on their end. 3000 and especially 3400 is when you can be sure the car will actually be built.

"Priority 6" is probably your position in that dealership's allocation queue, and given how long you've already had to wait, it's a bad place to be. I would find a higher volume dealership that has allocation and try ordering there; as it stands, your order is not going anywhere any time soon.

You should be fine, you ordered early in the model year. Once they get an allocation, you will hit 2000 status. Some 22 model year orders got dumped at the end of April when the order window closed. There still is no official word from GM about the Camaros future yet. If the order sits at 1100 for a few months, you may want to try a higher volume dealer that will get more allocations.

Definitely not. I ordered a 22 and it sat at 1100 status for 3 months before it finally got canceled. I'm hoping the same doesn't happen on my 23 order, but given that it's July of 2022 and I didn't order a crazily configured car, I'm still optimistic that I will get one.

Find a different dealer that has allocation.

"Priority number indicates the dealers preference for the placement of a preliminary order. The lower the number the higher the priority. A sold order defaults to a priority of 1, stock orders default to a priority of 99. Priority 0 means that the dealer does not want GM to place the order. The dealer can change these numbers as needed."

My personal experience was the priority was as already posted the number of customers that dealer has in front of you. At one time I was pri 15 on my 22 ZL1 and I never got it. When we got to input for 2023 I was PRI 2. My car was picked up shortly after that and is TPW 7/25.

I disagree with the priorities and Sold orders in the post above this one. My Pri 15 was a SOLD order all along and it played no part in getting the order picked up.
