91 vs 93 Octane in a Tune

We don't have 91 in my neck of the woods, only 87, 89 and 93. Is there any added benefit for tuning for 93 instead of 91?

Our 93 octane calibrations will usually yield 5-8 more HP and 1-2 MPG over the 91.

Tuning is better for 93, but in all reality, you probably should tune it for 91.
That way, no matter where you go you at least know you are safe for the fuel you can buy.
Out in our part of the country, 93 is few and far between. If I tuned for 93 and then could only find 91, I would run the risk of detonation. This way I am tuned for 91 and then no matter where I go I know I am safe. Then on race days, I just run the higher race gas and know I am vary safe at the track.

Hmmm Makes good sense. Never thought of this.
