What is the cheapest way to 600rwhp? What kind of mods would I need? Thanks for the help.

1 7/8" long tube headers
3" cat back Magguson TVS 2300 supercharger with smaller pulley, or procharger, or Vortech Cold air intake. Dyno tune. There are many other FI manufacturers out there but these are typically the most cost effective options. Happy hunting.

Well, I am getting a blower cam (L99 to LS3 conversion) and TVS 2300 supercharger with shorty headers. I am expecting between 500 and 540. I am not absolutely sure of what it will end up. I asked them to keep it street friendly but have a nice lope at idle.
With long tube headers and hi-flow cats, and possibly some more fuel coming in to (boost a pump, or hi-flow injectors), you should be able to get to 600, maybe.

Nitrous would be the cheapest up-front investment.
Twin turbos would be next cheapest assuming $8k for a kit and no other mods needed such as headers and cam. |

If you are OK with making 66rwhp more than here is your ticket:
http://www.ipsmotorsports.net/produc...oducts_id=4309 It is not the cheapest kit available but you can do your own home-work as to which is the best Jeff |

We'll Iam going to get the Vortech v-3 Si .. its the best safe power curve for the L99. The thing that gets me is a Supercharger goes for around 6-7 Grand and you could get a whole new 600hp Crate Engine for kinda close to that . Why the hell to the blowers cost soooo much anyway???

Hello.
I have an L99 and at last dyno was at 590-600rwhp. My mods include: ARH full exhaust (long tube headers, cats and crosspipe). SLP Loudmouth II (mainly for sound) Lingenfelters new complete fuel system redo for 2010's. CNC ported heads. New cam matched to supercharger requirements. Procharger DS-1 supercharger. Complete tune after all mods to maximize performance. 3.73 rear gears, lowered front/rear springs, rear control arms, Nitto 555's rear tires (no hp I know, just handling and traction). I doubt my mods would be considered your cheapest way to reach 600rwhp but I am there and everthing runs great and is still a smooth daily driver. I'm looking to add meth injection and changing out the torque converter in the fall to boost things up more. Maybe this gives you some help or ideas of what you may need to do to get your L99 to the 600 mark. Hopefully you may be able to do this a little cheaper that I could? Just a little friendly advice if I may, be careful of claims of super horsepower gains with very little money needed to invest. Our new Camaros are awesome from the start and it's fun to tweak them and see how much we can get out of them but the key is to do it safely and still have a car that you don't hate to drive because it's so improperly setup. If you don't plan on doing the work yourself, find a good speedshop that knows their stuff and work with them on the best way to reach your goals. You may spend the extra money but you will have a car that safely and reliably meets your horsepower goals. Sorry for the long post hopefully this helps you? |
