The back seat is great for a dog.(Sorry I just couldn't help posting a picture of my puppy Finley in another thread.)
Cute pup.

Just pull them out so you can look at them. The bottom cushions have one push pin each in the middle holding them in place. Just pop it up from the center of each seat bottom, then the seat comes right out.

My Infiniti G35 coupe had the same headroom as my 2SS. It also was a 2 + 2 for insurance purposes. Keeps the rates a bit lower which I appreciate. I knew that before buying it & considered it common sense that no adults would fit comfortably for both head room and leg room.

The rear seat is just a shelf to put things on occasionally for me...

I think the rear seats are good enough for what they are meant for. But then again, I lived on a 688 submarine for 4 years of my life, and "roomy" means something different for me. This must be berthing on a newer sub, because it sure looks like the Taj Mahal to me:

God Bless you man. First for serving our country, and for living in quarters like that.

I could never do that. I get uncomfortable when I walk into someone's house and they have too much furniture in their living room making it feel small and claustrophobic.

My humblest thanks. We all serve our fellow countrymen in some way.

That is a great looking dog. If you are going to let him ride in the car, he should be wearing a harness, not a collar and be anchored to a seat belt. They sell the seat belt anchors at PetSmart.

I've had 2 6'+ dudes in the back seat, 1 6' dude in the passenger seat, and my 5'10 self driving. No complaints. Everyone fit. Move your seat up a few inches for their legs to fit in. Boom.

Headroom is the issue. You have to slouch, tilt your head, huh the seat in front of you, anything to not sit upright. Any which way you look at it, it's potentially unsafe, and really uncomfortable. But it's so close to a usable height.
Take out the back seat, then install a reclining seat sideways. Then you should be able to recline enough to get your headroom?

You're welcome! Our hull number was 708 (decom now). I served from 94-98 with a couple years of NUC school prior. She was the USS Minneapolis-St Paul.

The backseat lack of space is way overrated. Unless you are a big dude with a big passenger in the front seat that needs the seats all the way back then there is room in the back seat for legs. If the rear passenger has a long torso he may have to slump down in the seat the keep head from rubbing the ceiling. If you have kids or a smaller adult, there is no problem. I admit the Drivers side may be tighter for legs but the passenger side should be able to live with the seat moved forward.
