FAST LSxr 102mm intake showed up today!

just got in from installing the new FAST intake, man does this intake look massive when next to the stock intake.

i used the factory fuel rails and injectors along with the fast spacer kit. here are a few things i noticed during the install that were not in the instructions:

1. you need 2' of 1/2" vacuum line to re-connect the power brake booster because the fast has the vacuum port in a different location

2. you need the oil pressure sender positioned so that the locking tab of the connector is facing twards the rear of the vehicle or the intake will hit and bolts wont line up

3. the fast intake has the wrong vacuum connector for the line that goes to the drivers side valve cover/pcv, i used a short piece of 3/8 vacuum line for now and cut off the plastic line so i could slip the 3/8 hose over it

4. the map sensor harness will not reach, and needed to be extended about 4"

5. if using the fast injector spacers, install them while the upper part of the intake is off, otherwise the spacers hit the upper cover and wont press straight in

6. you will need a small vacuum cap for the rear of the intake, the fast intake has a small vacuum port on the back that is not used on the camaro.

total time 2 1/2 hours that was including a trip to the parts store.

I spent 5 hours tuning on one today after a 1 hr install.

You also need not to install the STUPID FUC#$% WASHER THEY CALL A SPACER ON THE IDLER PULLEY.You need to MACHINE THE PULLEY BACKSIDE DOWN OR INSTALL A SMALLER IDLER PULLEY AND BELT TO CLEAR THE THROTTLEBODY.What ever MORON at FUEL AIR SPARK TECHNOLOGIES that thought it was OK to mis align the tensioner pulley by ..020 is a FUC$%^ IDIOT.

The Map connector will reach if you untape it in its loom and re route it and re tape it back up.

The end result on a slightly modded car was - 3RWHP AND 4 RWTQ

Sorry for the rant, but I could not bring it to my self to charge the customer after all that work.I told him to go to the track and see if he runs any faster. If he runs faster than I will charge him for it,if he does not run any faster I will take it back and give him a full refund...unlike what the guys at FAST WOULD EVER DO!

We installed a FAST 102mm LS7 intake on a 600 RWHP C6Z06.

Total gain 2 RWHP 5 RWTQ.

Katech and Halltech tested one of the first LSXR intakes on the Katech Superflow dyno used for the C6.R Race engines they built, and our 429 E85 motor gained 14 HP/ 20 lbs-ft. just swapping the intake out. The dyno below was done first at 12:1 CR and just swapping out the intake it went from 615 HP to 629. The 636 was with 13:1 CR, and prior to the 102mm Williams Performance Throttle body.

The LS3 needs more cam before any real bennys will be gleaned from this intake manifold.

Our LS7 motor is now at 650 HP/600 lbs-ft with the addition of the 102mm throttle body and 13:1 compression on a steady diet of E85.

We gained 18-23rwhp on MANY of the LS7 Vettes using the Fast.

As stated above-We gained virtually nothing on the L-99.

BTW-We are making 363RWHP and 382RWTQ out of this L-99.

This car runs strong at the track,we just want to see when it stops making power with all stock internals...Looks like we are there.

If the Intake does not help him on friday night,I am taking it off and installing it on my LS3 head 427 Camaro that is currently at 560rwhp with stock LPE PORTED Intake.

So is it worth the money to buy a FAST intake with gains of around 3 rwhp?

HELL NO!

Glad I have finally been patient on something by not getting this done yet.....

I was turned off from the moment I was told the belt tensioner would have to be modified to work with a 102 TB...

What were they thinking????

+1 for ADM and G-force , for telling the truth and not trying to just sell some parts that dont work so great .

So this would be last on the list of bang for the buck mods for a LS3 !

results may be great on a head/cam engine, i should have put mine on the dyno before and after but i was in a hurry to get it installed. hopefully adm will get to test on their 427 engine.

RPM in Garner, NC just did a FAST - NW TB install on a Head, Cam engine and I think they were a little disappointed in the results also.

Please don't tell me I spent $1,100 bucks on this thing to see no gain......

What about the tests from before? showing 14rwhp and tq? were they just making it up?
