Just had windows tinted 2 days ago, got a question
I got my windows tinted 35% all around on tuesday. I just noticed today that on the driver window (looking from outside) the bottom right of the window, the tint is peeling up a little bit. its not noticeable unless I put my face up against the window. My question is, I have a feeling its because the window goes down everytime the door is open or closed. Is there a fuse I can pull for the next week or so, so I can keep the window from continually going up and down and ruinning the tint or is it unadvisable to do so since I assume it does this for a reason. Not sure what to do since I dont think it could be a tint applicaiton problem as much as a window isnt settled and it keeps going up and down ruining that one edge.

uh, you kind of need window indexing to get in and out of your car... lol. If you don't index, and just keep it down for example, then rain, could seep into your car. If you leave it up, I don't think you can open and close your door.
My window was frozen solid a couple of days ago, you can't open the door unless you break the glass. I didn't want to risk it, so I climbed in through the other side.

I see. Well hopefully the tint doesnt get worse or when I finally start using the window I hope it doesnt ripe the whole tint apart or mess it all up. Time will tell, its got a lifetime warranty so I guess if something did happen I can just go back and get it fixed.

I would take it back and tell them to install under weather stripping the right way .. this should not be a problem if they install correct.

Take it back and have them redo the job. It should not peel up at all if done correctly. By that I mean it needs heat on it for this time of year.

Mine did the same thing. Don't let them fix that tint have them retint the window. When they tride to fix mine the tride heating up the window and melted the corner of the molding. They have to make the tint go way past the rubber

The tint shop did not correctly tint your window, it should not be peeling.

You can open the door with the window up/ without indexing. But it's not something you want to do unless your battery is dead.
I would recommend going back to the tint shop and requesting a refund. Then take your money elsewhere. |

What every one else said Take it back and have it redone. The tinter probabaly did not trip the windows when they were done. My tinter tripped the window and made it go up,tinted them first and then done the rest of the car.Have not had any problems.

yeah, i had this exact same problem on my passenger side and it ended up getting pretty bad, so took it back and had it redone and they just heated it up really good. perfect now.

same thing happened to my drivers side door, I need to have it redone and let the car sit for a few days, that should stop it. Oh and it will get a lot worse in a about a month or 2, or you can always take off the door panel and have the guy re-do it all the way down the window, then there shouldnt be any issues with the indexing when you open and close the door

As others have said....have it re-tinted. Any decent tinter can do it correctly without having to remove the door panel.

actually removing the door panel is the only way to ensure that it doesnt continue to happen, with the window indexing for opening and closing the door if you dont put it far enough down the window, which is why you need to remove the door panel, it will continue to happen.
