MattF,

Does your Camaro have stick on weight attached to the calipers or rollers (roller skates) attached to the brake pads?

I developed the same thing at 15k miles. Upgraded to Hawk HPS ceramic pads - double bonus, no more squeal and a lot less brake dust. Good Luck.

The Hawk HPS pads are metallic rather than ceramic.

I have the Hawk Ceramics and do still get occasional low speed (i.e. rolling to a stop) squeal.

There are three possible explanations.

1. It is the noise that is common to the 5th Gen brakes.
2. They need to be bedded. Find a quiet highway where you can safely accelerate and brake. Run up to 55MPH and stand on the brakes down to 35, up to 65 MPH stand on the brakes down to 35, Up to 75 MPH stand on the brakes down to 35 MPH. Drive at least five miles to let the brakes cool. When you park, leave it in gear or Park. D NOT use the e-brake. We want to avoid pad transfer.
3. You drive hard and need to replace your pads.

You should inspect your pads to make sure there is sufficient pad left to bed them.

If you do burn outs and ride you brake pedal the rears glaze making the noise worse.

If you drive very gently, the pads never really bed and make more noise.

Do the inspection, make sure you have at least 50% of a new pad and give the bedding process a shot. It has worked for quite a few people.

Same here. 'Seems to be a common thing w/ Brembo brakes. 'Had the same thing from day one w/ my old '04 G35 coupe that had factory Brembos also.
