Broken rearend, GM wont ship new part...
I just wanted some feed back or if anyone has a connection to help me out. I took my car in for warranty repair for noisy rearend gears and differential noise. Its a 2010 SS LS3. The dealership is going to fix it under their goodwill warranty even considering my mods. The idea was for a whole differential replacement part #92249270. Problem as of today is that Im told that there are a few available and GM wont ship them for some reason. I was all set up for C5 fest and its not looking good. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

The parts system will show exactly why it is not being shipped. The dealer should be able to tell you. One guess might be because all the service parts are available to service the unit. Is everything bad in yours... housing, carrier, gears... normally you'd just replace what it needs. To replace the whole thing, somebody somewhere probably wants to know why.

I still have a rear end up here in Canada. To ship costs around 350 dollars to the middle states. 5000 kms on it with stock power run through it

There goes those threads about mods voiding factory warranty.
Clearly it does not in some cases. |

Pretty dumb if you put on the same rearend. Going to break again. Took me 2 days to break my rearend at 420rwhp.
Upgrade bud. Going to save you a lot of headache and a potential fatal accident. |

Just call up Lingenfelter and get a new gear set from them. I bet it's cheaper than the factory parts. And I know it's better. Contact one of the distributors on here and they may be able to rush one too you in time. You're gonna miss C5 fest if you wait on GM lol

Some dealerships are more performance oriented and are less likely to void warrantys on small upgrades depending on what breaks. Like they stated, if you broke that one, chances are a new OEM wont last long either.

My best friend is the gm of the dealership so that's the only reason it's being covered by him and not GM. I can not afford an upgrade yet. I have nitro NT05 tires, a little sticky. A factory rear will last me a year or two until my 12" conversion. Thanks for the feed back .
