Keeping Original parts??

Is there any reason for me keeping my original stock parts from my car? I doubt I'll sell my car. Will it be worth more money with the original parts or are they just taking up space?

As a frequent buyer of used, modified cars, I always like it when the prior owner has kept the OEM parts. I don't know that I've ever put one back on, but having the option feels good to me. I always keep the OEM parts I take off, if they aren't broken. If you're gonna keep it to the grave, doesn't really matter I guess.

I agree, I'm keeping all my take off parts, doesn't hurt to have them IF you ever need them, plus looks better to the next guy if you ever go to sell

I'd say hold on to the parts for a couple years just in case.

I'm holding on to all the Parts off my '73 as I totally re-do it. I know it will be a pile of Scrap, but

I am keeping them
but I wish I can just throw them away. I got them in the house with no garage and it is taking up space to the point that if I do any more mods to the car I don't know where I am going to stick it.

That has been my thinking!! Keep all original..but it's nice to get other opinions. But...some of these are big and taking up space...I'm gonna need another garage pretty soon!!

Everyone always thinks they will keep they're car till death. I bet the actual percentage is about .00001%.

So, assuming you will sell it someday, keep the parts. You will get more money if you put it back to stock and sell the aftermarket parts on a forum like this. Besides, many buyers prefer a "stock" car.

And if you trade the car in, you better believe that your aftermarket parts are worth nothing. Heck, they may reduce the value of the car, so put it back to stock and sell the parts!

I must be one of the few that does what they say with a car...or truck! I bought a new 83 GMC when I was 20 and said I would never sell this truck!! Still have that truck today!!

I kept all my stock parts and it came in handy when selling the car. On the other hand you can always find stock parts on the forum for cheap and sometimes free.
