Trans Am Conversion
Anyone have any info on a trans am conversion for Gen5 Camaros?
I found ZTA that used to sell parts, but their website isn't up to date and there isn't any contact info. www.ztafirebird.com I thought I'd poke around here and see if anyone has done one or has any links with more info. Thanks! Chad |

I called ZTA last winter as I still had a contact number and the are out of business as their building was sold. Kinda glad I did not pursue their kit - damage a panel and you are SOL for a replacement. I think they were the only outfit that sold a "kit", and the others want to convert your car at a nosebleed price. There are plenty of C5 specific vendors that sell body panels and dress up that look great anyway.

everyone - that's what I was afraid of.
Its not in my budget to send a car off to have a turn key done. They look sweet, but unless I hit the lotto that isn't likely! |

The Trans Am needs to remain left for dead. Pretty much every recreation has been an abomination that should be incinerated with a white phosphorous grenade.

I remember a long time ago (1980), my friend bought a brand new Trans Am. He was FREAKING out after he bought it because after tax and everything it was TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!
I wonder how much THIS one is?

I work at a GMC dealership that used to be a Pontiac dealership, so I certainly have a fondness for the Trans Am! I think the conversions are fantastic, but I'm in agreeance with others, this is just way out of my financial league, but I still love looking at them. The 5th Gen Firehawk conversion posted above is gorgeous!

I must say I am partial to T/A's. Ordered this Special Edition 4sp new in 1977 and paid $6,375! It is insured for $45K. Bought my used 2010 2SS/RS 2 years ago at about 3x the price. Love them both and decided not to convert my Camaro since I already have a T/A, and prefer to go the Body/Ground effects in Carbon Fiber instead (pending).
