Seperate clutch resevoir = Fail

Installed a separate clutch reservoir a couple weeks ago.... Shame on me for not trying to shift it fast before I got to the track this past Sat. 1st run - go to get second and miss, keep in mind I have never since this car was new missed a shift (power shifting). So I figured there is a first for everything.... 2nd run same thing miss 2nd again! Very frustrated at this point. I did bring my old clutch line with me (good thing)

Changed line back to the brake master res and took off the separate clutch res.... Topped the master off with what was left in the clutch res and....

No more missed shifts for the rest of the day. I know there are a lot of guys who swear by this as a must do mod but it clearly did not work in my case.

Anyone have any issues to report with this same kind of result?

Mine shifted fine before and after. Only reason I run one is so not to let the clutch fluid contaminate the brake fluid. Only reason.

Something's up with your experience, OP. Perhaps air in the line?

There is no reason why the separate reservoir should shift worse (or better, for that matter) than how it came stock. Folks who swear by the separate reservoir can honestly only claim shifting characteristic changes because the clutch fluid is now cleaner or has been replaced by a higher quality fluid than what was originally there.

The reservoir makes it easy to change out the clutch fluid, while also keeping clutch dust out of the brake lines. No other reason . . . and anyone who claims the separate reservoir magically makes it shift better (absent cleaner fluid or higher quality fluid) is full of $hit.

I would say maybe to air in the line but I did not bleed it when I switched it back at the track and it worked like a champ. This is why I posted to see if there was anyone else with this same issue. I too did the change for the likely hood of the clutch dust not contaminating but now back to normal....
