Why Camaro owners are like Mac owners

Being a techie/tech professional, this just kind of dawned on me one day - Camaro owners are kind of like Mac owners.

-We are crazy about our Camaros (Macs) and most of us like to make fun of the competition, be it Mustangs or Challengers or whatever (Windows machines). I don't personally do this, but it's generally true.

-Camaro owners get crazy attention from other people. I've used both Macs and Windows machines in public and I've gotten compliments on my iBook (back in the day) and MacBook Pro plenty of times...never on a Dell though.

-Camaro owners spend most of their time on Camaro5 talking to like-minded people. Mac owners tend to do the same thing with sites like macrumors.com or The Unofficial Apple Weblog or any other Mac fansite.

-Camaro owners LOVE their cars. It's not just means of transportation to them, it's a way of living. This goes for Mac owners as well - a Mac isn't just a computer, it's a lifestyle for some people.

-When a new Mac comes out, it's backordered for weeks. Do I really even need to say how this compares to the 5th generation Camaro?

That's about all for now.

And just as a note...I know I have to put this in here because I've seen what happens when people don't: this is not a Mac vs PC/OS X vs Windows thread. If anyone comes in here Mac bashing or Windows bashing or claiming that Linux is God's gift to modern computing, I may have to use this

Hey look, another similarity.

I can't afford a Mac.

I can't afford a Camaro.

Hahaha, that is true. Macs are expensive, but they're every bit worth it (you get what you pay for). Same for Camaros.

But unlike a Mac, there's no shame in picking up a used 80s Camaro.

Unless you have a hardon for the Lisa. Then you're just a sick and twisted individual.. Not so much if you like IROCs.

Hahahahahaha, I think that first part is a universal truth regarding computers, but that second part is hilarious. :P

Also, the salespeople (stereotypical dealers, not all) all have a "holier than thou" attitude who try and rip people off...

Apple employees call themselves geniuses but seem to know nothing except how to talk down to friends of mine.

I haven't had that experience with an Apple genius or with my dealer. I only have one dealer, but I've visited the Genius Bar about four times and they're very respectful.

PC here.

Camaro purchase because I thought paying WAY more for a similar powered product with a few additional bells/whistles with a different body (Vette) to do the same thing was just silly.

Sorry Mac!

You also don't need to pay for a Mac to run their operating system. Alleviated the stupid tax and followed the online directions for a PC Hackintosh, similar to LS7 (Vette specific supposedly) engine swap in a Camaro.

Doable and on a budget!

Whereas the second may be legal, the first is not. I do believe there is precedent that will hold a software EULA up in court.

People pay me daily for parts/install for their 2010 Camaro to aid them even further in destroying warranties and breaking speed laws. O-snap, guess we're all CRIMINALS!
